My paintings have always been inspired by the magnificent places where I’ve lived—Montana, Oregon, Washington, and finally Santa Barbara. Watercolor is my primary medium. I am repeatedly drawn to watercolor’s immediacy and clarity, even though watercolor is the most challenging and humbling medium. Although I am largely self-taught, I have been inspired by so many great painters who live in our area.
