I met Ray Strong thirty-six years ago. He is my “painting father.” as he is for other painters, and the father of the Oak Group. I honor him when I paint and when I teach, and I am, in turn, honored by his love and friendship.
My responsibility is to continue to try to make paintings that reflect both the ideals that invigorate Ray’s spirit and the interesting times we live in. This is my commitment.
